Here is another free pattern for you. It's a lap quilt I designed for eQuilter.com. It features the panel from Robert Kaufman's Imperial 10 fabric collection. I also used some of the coordinates to the panel in the design. The rest of the fabrics were found among the fabulous selection of fabrics available at eQuilter.com. I've also posted an alternate color way using the blue/green panel. I changed the placement of the lightest fabric to give the border a different look. The border features a Drunkards Path block on point. The corner blocks were designed to continue the border motif around the corners of the quilt. As always, if you make this design, please send me a photo and I'll post it on my blog.

This is a quilt I designed for Quilting Treasures about a year ago. It commemorates the anniversary of the Gettysburg Address. Click here for the pattern link. I took a little time to see where you could find fabric. I found fabric at a site called the Sewing Basket. I found the kit at a site called Stich N Time. Happy quilting. As always if you make a quilt from one of my designs, I would love to see it!
Chateau quilts; queen twin & lap sized Here are some quilts I designed using fabrics from Tina Higgin's collection for Quilting Treasures. This lovely collection is perfect for anyone who loves lilacs. The pattern from Quilting Treasures has instructions for all three sizes. Click here for the pattern link. If you want to purchase a kit check out Melinda's Fabric Shop. I found kits for the twin and lap size on her web site. Right now their on sale. Below is a picture of the queen size.
Here is a wall hanging and a twin quilt that I designed using fabric from Simon & Kabuki for Quilting Treasures. The collection is called Let it Rain. Click on the images for the pattern links. The collection is old and may not still be available, but I'm sure this design would look cute with any fabrics. I did a quick search of the internet and the fabric is still out there. The boots are appliques made to resemble the boots in the fabric used in the center. I really enjoyed working with this collection.
I'm excited to let you know that another quilt I designed is in Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting March/April 2014 issue. This is another quilt that uses fabric from Quilting Treasures Blue Moon collection.
This one is being made available as a free download on the Fons & Porter website. Click on the image of the quilt to get to the download. This quilt sews together like a breeze. It utilizes strip piecing for the large blocks to give you quick to make project. Plus it doesn't have a lot of seams that need matching. The only warning is that the image on page 7 isn't completely right. The row of large blocks on the left isn't rotated correctly in the image. Look to finished quilt image for the correct rotation. One last thing I would like to tell you is that this can be enlarged to make a queen sized version (107.5" x 115.5") as shown below. Just e-mail me if you would like to know the yardage. I haven't calculated it yet, but it wouldn't take long. Here is another quilt that I designed for Quilting Treasures Fabrics. This fabric group is based on fabric used in the “Shenandoah” quilt made in the 1890's from the Virginia Quilt Museum. You can find the fabrics by clicking here. Click here to get the instructions for the quilt and sham. The quilt is a queen size.
Some time ago Quilting Treasures released a collection of fabrics copied from a quilt at the Virginia Quilt Museum (VQM). The quilt is known as “Chintz Medallion”. It’s a beautiful quilt made of a variety of Brown and Turkey Red Chintz Fabrics. I was asked to write the directions for quilters to use to accurately recreate this beautiful. Unfortunately it was brought to my attention that there were some issues with the construction and cutting directions. The major issue is the corner of the Blue Garland border. After reviewing the directions that were released from Quilting Treasures I found that an incorrect image of the quilt was given to the person who edits directions. So they changed the directions to make the picture. It was an image created during the process of trying to recreate the quilt with my Electric Quilt software. It was never meant to go into the directions. I have made the corrections and gave them to the wonderful quilter who brought it to my attention. She has completed the quilt top and tells me that the corrections are good. Please contact me if you have bought this kit or obtained the pattern and would like the changes sent to you. I’m sorry for any inconvenience and hope that your quilt turns out beautifully. I’m posting images of the quilt top made by the Quilter who contacted me. It looks really awesome! Goodbye for now, Janice Hi Folks,
Here is another free pattern from Quilting Treasures fabrics for you. The collection is called Quilting Stripe by Kensington Studio. The stripe is 1" wide and the collection comes in four color ways. This is a great way to make a stunning quilt in little time. Click on the image below to find the free pattern. I design quilts for Quilting Treasures Fabric Company. Patterns for designs created by myself and other designers are available for free download from the Quilting Treasures project page. When one of my quilts is posted on their page I'll post the link here for you. My latest design is for the Blue Moon collection from Studio 8.
